Regulation and Policy Analyst - Energy

Moixa invents, manufactures and distributes smart energy technology including the Moixa Smart Battery range and Moixa GridShare - the battery asset management software platform that enables end customers to maximise the usage of renewable energy and unlock mass adoption of EV technology.
The Moixa team is growing fast and we are looking for a Regulation and Policy Analyst with expertise in the US power markets to work alongside our passionate teams based in London and Manchester.
The Regulation and Policy Analyst has the responsibility of deeply understanding the commercial and operational landscape in the US grid service markets and the utility supply markets. This role will initially focus on the US markets however, in the long term you will also concentrate on other markets globally. You will work on mapping regulatory changes and provide expertise regarding the power markets in the US. You will report to the Associate Director Software R&D and will be expected to work closely with the Product and Labs team and the wider organisation.
This is a unique opportunity for an experienced Regulatory and Policy Analyst to help steer the strategic direction of a company that aims to be one of the major players in the US smart grid infrastructure.
Responsibilities:
Identify and research relevant policies in the US grid service markets and the utility supply markets.
Understand the evolving marketplace of grid services commercially
Track, understand and communicate the impact of policy and regulatory changes on the business
Identify and produce analysis and insights that will help deliver the company's strategy
Record relevant policy and regulation changes and assess their impact on the business
Attend relevant external events and effectively interact with external policy and regulation stakeholders.
Work with the product and technical teams to develop decisions on products and features
Work with external clients, alongside the delivery teams, to understand their needs
Your key skills:
Strong technical literacy – ability to communicate effectively and credibly with technical colleagues
Excellent comprehension - ability to grasp complex problems and scenarios across a variety of settings, from technical specifications to strategic plans
Highly analytical in your thinking and ability to focus on the big picture
Exceptional stakeholder management and negotiation skills - ability to influence and persuade external partners and stakeholders
You are a curious and proactive problem-solver
You are adaptable and can handle uncertainty with a positive, solution-oriented attitude
Your ideal experience:
Experience/understanding of the US power markets
Technical and economic analysis of power market issues
Experience of reviewing regulatory, policy and operational documentation
Good to have:
Experience in grid service markets
Experience of utilities and/or regulation in California
Experience with utility tariff setting procedures

Location: This role can be fully remote from within the UK, partially remote (you will be able to attend the office in London - Farringdon or Manchester for the chosen amount of days a week), or office-based.
