Moixa is a high-growth venture and energy industry innovator which has established itself as the UK’s leading residential smart battery storage company.

Moixa invents, manufactures and distributes smart energy technology including the Moixa Smart Battery range and Moixa GridShare - the battery asset management software platform that enables end customers to maximise the usage of renewable energy and unlock mass adoption of EV technology.

The Moixa team is growing fast and we are looking for an Associate Product Manager to work with our Product Management Team and the rest of our passionate team in London and Manchester.

The Associate Product Manager will help to define and grow a software product suite that empowers customers to save cost and carbon and lets corporate partners deploy and manage smart home devices. You will work with a range of teams within the company, and with external stakeholders, to ensure successful product design and delivery. There will be a strong focus on employing user-centric design practices to ensure that Moixa’s expanding development team is building the right products for its domestic and business customers.

This is a unique opportunity for someone with product experience, particularly those with operations or energy experience. They should thrive in a scale-up environment and be good at proactively identifying problems and defining solutions. They should be comfortable shaping product and business processes as well as demonstrating a strong user bias and feeling for design.

You love tech and working on technical products, are a clear communicator, and love innovating. You are passionate about providing solutions that help society to tackle the climate crisis.

Responsibilities:

  • Understanding the needs of Moixa’s end customers and corporate partners, defining product requirements, and ensuring delivery of products to address those needs and requirements

  • Diving into the detail of product development, and engaging with Moixa’s software development team to iteratively build, test and release new features

  • Ensuring the ongoing coordination of internal and external stakeholders through ownership of feature rollout

  • Undertaking analytical analysis of customer needs and product operations to identify new opportunities for Moixa to improve customer experience

  • Conducting user-testing and competitor analysis

  • Dependent on the stage in the product life cycle, responsibilities could include:
    • Working with senior staff and partners to plan, design and prioritize product development

    • Product value evaluations (informed from research) and prototyping if required

    • Managing the development and resolution of issues that occur in product production and implementation

    • Responsible for developing product release plans, and ensuring that they are appropriately gated and signposted

    • Communication of priorities and status updates to stakeholders. Particularly with customer-facing teams

  • You will produce technically focused product information/reference guides for internal teams within Moixa and for Moixa’s customers

  • Updating and author release plans, design documentation and other product documentation

  • Supporting development team agile processes, such as delivery management, writing Jira tickets with clear acceptance criteria, and ensuring features satisfy these prior to release

  • Creating, maintaining, and prioritising items for product backlogs to direct the work of delivery teams.

  • Strong technical literacy – you can communicate effectively and credibly with technical colleagues

  • Strong communication skills - you can write and speak succinctly and you tailor your communication style to the audience

  • Strong logistical and operational skills - you know how product delivery and operations works in the real world

  • Making the complex simple – you are great at taking abstract technical concepts and making them easily understood by non-technical stakeholders

  • You can see the big picture – you are strategic and adept at prioritisation and planning

  • Exceptional stakeholder management – you can influence and persuade, you know how to get business units to work together and overcome conflicting priorities

  • You are a curious and proactive problem-solver – product management for you can include aspects of delivery when needs be, that’s the nature of scale-ups and you handle it with confidence

  • You are adaptable – growth means fast-pace and constant change, you handle uncertainty with a positive, solution-oriented attitude

  • Fast learner - you can quickly pick up new and technical concepts

Your ideal experience:

  • You have experience in the energy industry, ideally in the power sector

  • You have experience in operations or logistics

  • You have worked in a digital product delivery environment

  • Agile product management

  • End-user app development

  • Knowledge of user-centric design processes

  • You have worked directly with technical teams

  • Knowledge of software development practices
